NOJA Power Expands Solid Dielectric Load Break Switch Manufacturing Capacity

Australian Switchgear Manufacturing firm NOJA Power confirms the expansion of manufacturing capacity for their Solid Dielectric insulated Load Break Switch, known as the NOJA Power VISI-SWITCH®.

The NOJA Power VISI-SWITCH® is the world’s first Solid Dielectric enclosed Load Break Switch with visible isolation. Unlike legacy technologies, the NOJA Power VISI-SWITCH® has zero SF6 gas insulation, instead relying on a solid dielectric insulation system.

Applying this technology to a Load Break Switch architecture, NOJA Power now provides a sustainable alternative to the incumbent SF6 products on the market today.

The NOJA Power VISI-SWITCH® consists of an enclosed air-break isolator and vacuum interrupter in series, operated by a mechanical sequencing mechanism. With this design, the vacuum interrupter is responsible for all electrical makes and breaks, while the isolator provides all the necessary BIL to meet standards for a point of isolation.

This viewing window allows operators to visibly confirm the point of isolation prior to linework, providing a safety advantage and peace of mind.

NOJA Power is expanding production capacity for the NOJA Power VISI-SWITCH® at their Brisbane Manufacturing headquarters. As more utilities worldwide seek to eliminate SF6 gas insulation from their distribution networks, NOJA Power is providing a viable option to make that transition with reasonable lead times.
