NOJA Power Runs in Bridge to Brisbane
NOJA Power’s staff and family members are celebrating their performance in the NOJA Power running team for the 2021 event.
A cornerstone event in NOJA Power’s Health and Wellbeing program, the annual Bridge to Brisbane event is a mass participation charity fun-run event. This year, over 30,000 participants ran the race from the Gateway Bridge near NOJA Power HQ, to the RNA showgrounds in central Brisbane. Despite rescheduling challenges, the 2021 event raised $1,191,525 in funds for charities, such as MS Queensland, the Cancer Council, Stroke Foundation and FoodBank.
NOJA Power Group Managing Director Neil O’Sullivan said, “NOJA's Health & Wellbeing Program has the motto ‘safety is important; health is your life’, and it was great to see our 100 + strong team participate in this year's Bridge to Brisbane event, now back at its home starting at the Gateway Bridge. Congratulations to our staff and their family members who participated.”
Some of NOJA Power’s fittest staff achieved 10 km race times comfortably below 1 hour, and the “most experienced” member of the team completed the race middle of the pack, and only admitted to their age starting with 7!
NOJA Power’s team entry finished with a respectable 190th position of 417 teams, narrowly beating the QSuper Group by 24 seconds. It’s a result the NOJA Power team can be justly proud of, and the real winner from this year’s event are the charities that benefit from such great team participation.
