Mechanical Design Engineer

NOJA Power Switchgear manufactures and supplies globally a range of intelligent medium voltage switchgear. We have current research and development projects that will yield leading edge new products.

We are seeking a degree qualified design engineer to join the R&D team with minimum two years’ experience who is very enthusiastic to learn and progress in the field of Mechanical Engineering. The successful applicant will enjoy being part of an organization taking Australian technology to the world.
The role will report to R&D Switchgear Manager

Key responsibilities of this role include

 Creating subsystem design specifications
 Creating subsystem conceptual designs
 Creating 3D CAD models for parts and assemblies
 Performing mechanical calculations for static, kinematic and dynamic subsystems
 Performing mechanical stress analyses utilizing FEA
 Creating detailed manufacturing drawings for parts and assemblies
 Creating Product Bill of Materials and working with suppliers
 Working in a team of engineers and follow project plans
 Building design prototypes for testing and validation
 Creating test plans, performing design tests and reporting
 Liaising with others to transition new products to mass production

The candidate should possess the following skills to be considered
for the role

• Tertiary qualifications; Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Leader in creativity and innovation
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in:
o Mechanical design of conceptual products/assemblies
o Design of production jigs & fixtures

Mechanical CAD Draftsperson / Technician

We are seeking a Mechanical Draftsperson with one to two years industry experience who is very enthusiastic to learn and progress in the field of Mechanical Engineering. The successful applicant will enjoy being part of an organization taking Australian technology to the world.

The role will report to R&D Switchgear Manager

Key responsibilities of this role include:
* Creating manufacturing drawings and specifications of designs developed by other engineers in the team
* Creating 3D cad models of large assemblies based on sketches and layouts of design concepts developed by R&D Engineers
* Administration of the CAD data management system including creation and maintenance of libraries and templates.
* Preparing and maintaining product BOM and BOM cost estimates
* Communicating with suppliers and organizing prototype manufacture.
* Coordinating all the procurement activities related to product development
* Inward inspection and verification of parts manufactured and delivered by suppliers.
* Assisting the Engineers in Electrical, Mechanical, and Environmental testing of new products and prototypes.
* Hands on work in building prototype units for various in-house tests.

The candidate should possess the following skills to be considered for the role
* Proficiency in Mechanical drafting with good understanding of AS 1100 standard
*Proficiency in 3D cad modeling (preferably PTC CREO)
*Understanding of top-down design methodology would be a real advantage
*Good understanding of manufacturing processes and process capabilities including various types of machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding metal casting and plastic mouldings.
*Experience in PLM systems would be an advantage (Windchill preferred).
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Communicating with Australian and overseas suppliers is a major part of this role.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Hands on experience in measuring instruments and mechanical tools including manual machines would be an advantage

We are seeking candidates for the position of Business Development Manager responsible for the sales/technical support of our products within the African Market.

The successful candidate will hold electrical engineering or trade qualifications together with experience in interfacing directly to Distribution Network Service Providers. An understanding of medium voltage switchgear and or protection products would be highly regarded. Experience in travelling to and selling products into Africa is preferred but not essential.

This position will be based in Brisbane Australia, you will be required to travel on a regular basis to Africa, interfacing directly to NOJA Power’s customers in most African countries. Your International travel will support NOJA Power’s Exclusive Distributors, and provide technical presentations and training, to NOJA Power’s customers within this region.

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 5-10 years’ experience in the mechanical design of mass produced products/assemblies. The successful applicant will enjoy being part of an organization taking Australian technology to the world, and will have the following qualifications and experience:

Your key responsibilities will include:

o New or improved features
o Reliability improvements
o Ease of assembly
o BOM cost reductions
• Mechanical design of production line systems for switchgear, including
o Custom jigs and fixtures
o Workstation design
o Materials handling solutions, including customised conveyors, monorails etc.
• Coordinate your work closely with a team of Process, Mechatronics, Electronic and other Mechanical Engineers.

Quality Inspector

NOJA Power researches, develops, designs, manufactures and supplies low, medium and high voltage switchgear products globally. We are seeking applications for the position of a Quality Inspector with the knowledge and experience in electrical and mechanical areas. Reporting to the Quality and Safety Manager, the responsibilities of the Quality Inspector include:

  • Conduct inward goods inspection (according to specifications - both dimensional and functional) of components;
  • Preparation of quality inspection report for the inspected components;
  • Review non-conformance and taking decision on rework, scrap or return to the suppliers;
  • Analyze non-conformances and find root cause and implement actions;
  • Raising quality issue and advise and react to the issues;
  • Review and analyze NCR database;
  • Conduct internal auditing;
  • Other activities as directed by the Quality and Safety Manager;

Qualifications:

Diploma/Engineering Qualifications in Mechanical / Electrical. The successful candidate should have experiences in the following:

  • Manufacturing process in quality focus
  • Inspection and test
  • Non-conformance investigation, finding root cause and implement action
  • Understand drawings, schematics and specifications knowledge on ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
